This is an indispensable dictionary for anyone seriously interested in artists of all mediums. First published in French in three volumes between 1911 and 1923, it was assembled by Emmanuel Benezit (1854-1920) and a team of international art specialists. The next edition was a much expanded eight volume set published between 1948 and 1955, revised and expanded once again for this ten volume set published in 1976.

Good condition, except for slight waterstaining to hard cover cloth bindings of end volumes. Blue cloth boards (no dust jacket), as issued. Internally an exceptionally clean copy, as new. The most extensive dictionary ever compiled on the exponents of art. Invaluable to anyone whose passion is fine art.
