Superb engraving of a Royal Bed, printed by Charles Chardon and published by Georges Rapilly, Paris circa 1863, to illustrate architectural details and furnishings for the ornamentation of 16th, 17th and 18th century apartments in Paris. 

This superb engraving with spectacular modern gouache hand-colour, is after the copperplate engraving circa 1700 by French-born Dutch architect, opulent furniture designer and engraver Daniel Marot (1661-1752).
