Mt Sinai from Port of Tor & Rock of Meribah c1775.
$40.00
Mount Sinai antique print. Tor, Rock of Meribah, dedicated To the Reverend Peter Foulkes D.D. Canon of Christ Church, Oxford.
Original copperplate engraving by Hubert Francois Bourguignon d’Anville Gravelot. Published in London circa 1738 for “Travels and Observations relating to several parts of Barbary and the Levant”.
Early hand-made paper with some damage towards edges. Engraving is a little to the left, but this is fortunate as there is damage within the right paper margin, and the engraving is not affected. It would be a fine image when framed. Page size 35 x 22.5cm (13 1/2 x 8 7/8 inches)
