About a most disreputable map thief, who stole valuable centuries-old maps from some of the most prominent research libraries in the United States and Canada. The fact that it was possible, and the response from some institutions to the ensuing police and FBI investigation, are disturbing indictments of many who are responsible for the care of the great libraries of the world. This book will be of particular interest to anyone in the map trade, who might appreciate reading about the predicament and experiences of their fellow dealers.
