Curtis White Flag Iris, Florentine Flag Iris Florentina.

$14.00

Heritage Editions Flag Iris print from Curtis original.

A lovely reproduction enlarged and printed from a hand-coloured copperplate engraving for The Botanical Magazine; or Flower Garden Displayed, begun by William Curtis in 1787 to illustrate plants from around the world that were received and cultivated in England.

One of a series of 12 Heritage Editions Curtis botanical reproductions. In the 18th century the original image was hand-coloured with natural ochres which do not fade with the passing of time. As with all artwork, we recommend framing with ultraviolet-protection glass to prevent fading of modern printing inks.

Size 330 x 255mm (13 x 10 inches).
