Mr. R.T. Lloyd Price's Pointer "Wagg". Cassell lithograph c1881.
Original lithograph printed in colour by lithographers to the Queen, Vincent, Brooks Day & Son for “Cassell’s Illustrated Book of the Dog” by Vero Kemball Shaw, published in London circa 1881 by Cassell, Petter and Galpin Co.
At the end of the nineteenth century, the quality of chromolithographic illustrations for publication was exceptional. Many of the colour-printed lithographs for "Cassells Book of the Dog" were finished with hand-colour and highlighting. They are some of the finest illustrations ever printed of the dog breeds.
The price has been reduced because of slight soiling at the page edges, but these would not show when it is framed. Plate size is 205 x 270mm (8 x 10.75 inches).
